Summer 2007 Megaera received a Pentax K1000 from a Texas pawnshop, acquired a box of Kodak Gold 200 from a pharmacy, thus began a passion for imagemaking.

A San Francisco Academy of Art University Cinematography school drop-out, mentored to work up camera department hierarchy, Megaera launched her freelance film career in 2011. Her first camera union day, the backup-camera body became b-camera during a car commercial on San Francisco’s Twin Peaks; night exterior flybys, pulling blind on the barrel of wide open ARRI Master Primes. After many Sonoma Coast indie features as A-Camera 1st Assistant, Megaera shifted coasts. Upon settling in New York City she finally joined the International Cinematographers Guild as 1st Assistant Camera in 2017, later re-rating to Camera Operator in 2022.

A seasoned traveler throughout her career, Megaera’s breadth of work includes Film, Television, Commercials, Documentary, Fashion, Political, Live, and more. A Rostered ICG600 Camera Operator in good standing, she’ll still gladly run around Bushwick rooftops with a Bolex fluttering 16mm joy.

Yes, you have seen her work.
